New Deal advice and guidence New Deal is the government programme that provides help and a personal advisor to give unemployed people guidence for finding a new job or career. You can call 0845 606 2626 seven days a week for the latest information. Programmes are for young people (18 to 24) or for people over 25, disabled people, single parents and also provide programmes for self-employment and musicians. New Deal for Disabled People (NDDP) helps people who are getting disability and health related benefits find a new career. Contact the NDDP Help line on 0800 137 177 and visit their site at New Deal for full information. New Deal is a division of the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) and is designed for 18 to 24 year olds who are on Jobseekers Allowance (JSA) for at least six months, however, talk to them even if you have been out of employment for less than six months. If you cannot find employment, you can take up one of the New Deal options such as a subsidised job, training and a job with a voluntary or environmental organisation, or you can study full time for qualifications. You will be able to still claim JSA with any option.
